HIRA KING RUN

Enigmatic Londoner Hira King just dropped his delightfully oddball debut tune, 'Run', and we're already besotted with its bombastic bass, playful synths and jangling steel drums. Coupled with the game-y imagery, the track's kooky blips and bleeps offer up a definite whiff of 8-bit and retromania, but whatever, it's all tied together beautifully by a soulful croon, right out of the top drawer resided in by Frank Ocean and Miguel. At under two minutes long, 'Run' has already wheeled away like a go-kart crammed full of fireworks before you know it. Come back soon, please, Hira. Until then, we're hitting 'reset' again, and again. - DC
